Ingredients
- The Steaks
1.5 lbs Ground Beef (Or your favourite ground meat)
1/3 Can of Campbells Onion Soup
1 Egg
1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
1 TSP Salt
1/2 TSP Black Pepper
1/2 TSP Garlic Powder
Few Splashes of Worcestershire sauce
- The Gravy
1 White Onion, sliced
1 lb Mushrooms (any)
2 cups rich Beef Broth
3 TBSP cup AP Flour
3 TBSP Butter
Chives for garnish
Directions
- Mix all the steak ingredients and put aside
- In a hot pan, sautee the onions and mushroom 2 TBSP Butter until translucent. Browning the onions a touch is nice.
- Reserve fluids and place the mushrooms and onions in a bowl, set aside
- In hot pan, sear the steaks on both sides, but dont fully cook. Set steaks aside.
- Add 2 TBS Butter to the pan, melt and brown, then add Flour to create a roux.
- Return the steaks and their accumulated juices into the pan, in the gravy
- Slowly add the Beef Broth to make a gravy, stirring constantly.
- Add remaining Onion Soup to the gravy.
- Return the Onions and Mushrooms to the pan, along with their juices.
- Cover and cook on Low-Medium for about 20 minutes, or till steaks are cooked through
- Serve over mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh chives

- I know it sounds gross. “Canned Onion Soup??”. Trust the process.
